Terms of Service

The Service

BetterConfig provides hosted remote configuration and feature-flag management, including storing your configuration and serving it to your applications through our API and SDKs.

Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep it current. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and API tokens and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

Plans, billing, and renewals

• The Service offers a free plan and paid plans. Paid plans are billed in advance through our payment provider on a monthly or yearly basis.
• Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated; downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.
• Paid subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time, and your plan remains active through the end of the period you have paid for.
• Fees are exclusive of taxes, which you are responsible for where applicable. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.

Usage limits

Each plan includes limits on resources such as projects, environments, members, configuration reads, and storage. If you exceed a limit, you may be prompted to upgrade, and we may pause or throttle the affected functionality (for example, configuration reads) until you are back within your plan.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for unlawful, infringing, or harmful purposes.
• Disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure.
• Reverse engineer or resell the Service except as permitted by law.
• Store or transmit content you do not have the right to use.

Your content

You retain ownership of the configuration and other content you store in the Service. You grant us a limited license to host, process, transmit, and serve that content solely to operate and provide the Service. You are responsible for your content and for having the rights necessary to use it.

Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and brand, is owned by BetterConfig and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you no rights to our trademarks or branding.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to us or others. On termination, your right to use the Service ends and we may delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BetterConfig will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or revenue. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold BetterConfig harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
